Well, I'd say there's no reason you can't do both. After all, it's best to live a well-rounded life, is it not? Otherwise you run the risk of burning out on your genuine passions.

Then again, my muscle memory is good enough that I can usually think through other things while practicing forms.

Quite! However, for me, being more than healthy was never the concern.

Anyone who could overexpose themselves to a real passion of theirs was likely not as passionate about it as they hoped.

[ Archer, for one, is quite the focused fellow despite any appearances otherwise. Getting bored with something he loves? He has more discipline than that! ]

Still, expanding one's horizons is a respectable pursuit!

And I'm not really one to talk, since this is basically the closest thing to a vacation I've had since I started working. So I suppose one could stand to have their horizons forcibly expanded every once in a while...

If only that I could say different. My own work was pushing me toward an early grave back home, with quite the narrow focus, I've come to realize. This break could be just what I need to get out of the rut!

Ah, that's a shame. Well, you're not the first person I've met who's having a better time here than they were back home, and I'm sure you won't be the last. You might as well go ahead and have fun with this vacation, then.

I've been trying to figure out how to navigate things, I suppose, since I do have a few hangups about my responsibility to my duties back home versus here... but at the same time, I have been trying to enjoy myself instead of moping.

Politics, mostly. I’m going to be extremely cross if it turns out everything I worked for is rendered invalid because I got spirited away to another planet for however long.
