Honestly, I'm not sure. I know your feelings on this, but in the event that we can figure out a way to leave, I think it'd be irresponsible to try and take a position of responsibility here when I'm more concerned with what's going on back home. I'm not going to deny that it's tempting, though.

I think you should try. Having one of our own in power to represent our interests. It seems like a smart idea in the long term.

That's what I've been thinking too, even if I'm still a little conflicted about it. At the very least, we might be able to get them to actually explain things... though, I'm no scientist, so that seems like it's a strike against me.
