[Wait. Polar bear dogs? And cat deer? It isn't often that Mikazuki finds himself caught off guard, even less that he's faced with the same level of whimsical nonsense he likes to spout himself. Maybe this is payback for all those times he teased his friends...]

I'm sorry, do you mean those are quite commonplace to you? They sound like something that belongs with the likes of a jackalope. Or Shishi. [There might be another question showing up at any moment but look this is much more important.]

What, really? Jackalopes aren't that uncommon, though. I mean, they're native to the Si Wong Desert, but we've seen an uptick in them as pets. I don't think I've heard of Shishi, though...

Perhaps you know them as liondogs? They grace entrance to Buddhist temples and they're popular imagery in art and dances. [By now he's figured they come from vastly different worlds but... what's the fun in owning up to that.]

...You know, I think I actually remember hearing there are some spirits fitting that description, but there are spirits featuring most descriptions. I'm not sure about Buddhist anything, though. Maybe that's something unique to where you're from...?
