Well, I'd say there's no reason you can't do both. After all, it's best to live a well-rounded life, is it not? Otherwise you run the risk of burning out on your genuine passions.
Then again, my muscle memory is good enough that I can usually think through other things while practicing forms.
Quite! However, for me, being more than healthy was never the concern.
Anyone who could overexpose themselves to a real passion of theirs was likely not as passionate about it as they hoped.
[ Archer, for one, is quite the focused fellow despite any appearances otherwise. Getting bored with something he loves? He has more discipline than that! ]
Still, expanding one's horizons is a respectable pursuit!
[He thinks. He's a lightweight, but he only had one glass. But the idea throws him off enough that he actually pulls back a little, relaxing his grip just slightly -
- and he doesn't see the ice coming at all. It hits him in the jaw, knocking him backwards, making him grunt in pain. He stumbles, but he doesn't fall.]
...yes, it's true, unfortunately... but in any case, there are plenty of good stands around. Do you feel like getting the same sandwich, or do you want recommendations?
[Why not, right? ...And also, he gets the nagging feeling like he should be recognizing this person, but doesn't really...]
[It's the clothes. She had found herself in her usual garb again and with all the dark reds, her outfit sort of screams Fire Nation... if a little old fashioned by his standards? Somewhat maybe.
With a flick of her wrist the knife is gone again. She perks her brows up some, curious.]
Recommendations work. As long as it's spicy.
[Honestly if she's going to go tree watching what she really wants is fire flakes.]
Ah, well... there are three moons, and we're all affiliated with one of the three... apparently randomly. I'm not really sure what governs it myself, but whenever your moon is full, it affects your personality to a certain extent and your appearance.
[...he does something which is relatively rare for him, which is that he reflects on himself a bit...]
And I'm not really one to talk, since this is basically the closest thing to a vacation I've had since I started working. So I suppose one could stand to have their horizons forcibly expanded every once in a while...
If only that I could say different. My own work was pushing me toward an early grave back home, with quite the narrow focus, I've come to realize. This break could be just what I need to get out of the rut!
Well, neither is threatening to snap someone's neck out of the blue.
[He's going to try and put some distance between him and this fuckin weirdo then, so he can at least be more comfortable about this weird interaction.]
I'd recommend the stall across from the patch of reddish trees. I'm pretty sure they're being catered by this place I got some incredibly spicy mapo tofu once, and it was both hot and delicious.
[...huh. Okay. Actually, thinking about it...]
...
So, are you from the Fire Nation, then, or are you just from a suspiciously similar culture and extremely confused about what I'm saying?
[The distance helps. Chuuya feels less compelled to grab the guy again so he can keep whispering threats at him. He rubs at his jaw, feeling really weird suddenly. So he's going to focus on what's important instead of what he himself just did:]
[ of course. three moons. affecting his personality. affecting his appearance. that's just par for the course at this point. more weirdness. of course. ]
Ah, that's a shame. Well, you're not the first person I've met who's having a better time here than they were back home, and I'm sure you won't be the last. You might as well go ahead and have fun with this vacation, then.
[Chuuya is used to some pretty weird abilities, so he's not even going to question it. He just makes a mental note to keep track of water sources around this guy.]
